One Year Anniversary

May 22, 2008

Wow, where to start? I can't believe we have already passed our year mark. This has been the best year of my life and wouldn't have changed a thing. Randy and I have become so close this past year, closer than I ever thought was possible. I love learning more and more about him as time goes on. He is such a good husband and I am so so lucky to be married to such an amazing man. He is my best friend and I never want to imagine life without him by my side. We are definitely perfect for each other. He shows me more everyday how much he loves me and he always knows the right things to say when i'm upset or worried about something. We always heard the first year was the hardest but if that was the hardest it is going to be then we are very lucky!
For our Anniversary we played tennis, went shopping and then checked into The Peery Hotel. When we got to our room we found a candy bouquet that my cute mom had sent to our room. After dropping our bags off we went up to La Caille for dinner. It was of course deliscious and we were stuffed!!

La Caille helped us celebrate

Thank you so much babe for the most amazing year of my life, I'm so lucky to be able to spend the rest of eternity with you!!

Baby showers and Random Days

Rachael's Baby Shower

Randy's really good friend Rachael (she was one of my bridesmades) is having a baby boy in June. She had a georgeous baby shower at La Caille that was so much fun! I was really good to see her and of course she looked amazing at 8 months pregnant!! She had a full buffet with yummy food, goodie bags full of pregnancy tests, gift certificates, and champagne to celebrate the birth. There was also a photobooth which was probably one of my favorite things there!!Here are some pics from the night:

We found a rope swing, wish I would have known that was there on the wedding day!! I totally would have gotten some shots on that!

Random Nights
Every now and then we help Randy's dad out catering, we did a really cool wedding in May that was Moulin Rouge/Carnival themed. His dad did such a good job and if you ever need a caterer he owns ' Cosmopolitan Catering ' and I've seen him do pretty much anything and always displays it in cute creative ways!! Here are some pics of the decorations and of us in our 'costumes.'
They had a professional hula hooper perform

So, it was quite the spread. They had a photobooth, cotton candy machine, italian soda bar, popcorn machine, and gelato bar with lots of yummy toppings. Randy's dad provided chocolate covered bacon, mini burgers, pretzels, mini pizzas, fries, and chocolate covered bananas.

I know this might not be very interesting to some but I was so impressed on how creative this whole idea was!!
Other random pics from things we have been up to lately:

Eating at the Spaghetti Dinner in Centerville with the fam

Cheering Kelsey on at one of her soccer games, we got really into it! She has gotten really good, I was impressed!!The little soccer player and my cute husband Enjoying the game

A little Catch Up

January -
On the 16th Randy turned the big 25! Mid-twenties, crazy! 31st I turned 23, not quite as old as Randy but I still feel really old, especially when I realized that I've been out of high school for 5 years!!
February -
We had a wonderful Valentine's Day! We got sushi from Mikado's and ate it on my new sushi dishes, it was pretty fun. Randy got me beautiful roses and we just spent the night in watching the dunk contest, which I always enjoy watching for some reason, maybe part of it is cause I know how much he enjoys it! I promise it was my idea though, everyone gave him a hard time about making me 'stay in' on V-day but I loved it!

My grandma also passed away on February 28th. My sister and I flew down to NM to meet my mom and the rest of the fam for the funeral. It was really sad, I was pretty close to her but she had been going downhill for the past couple of years and she was really miserable, not even the same person anymore. My poor grandpa, he was in shock because she passed away so quick and he didn't expect it so soon. He was having such a hard time with it. I cant even imagine the pain he must be going through, he kept saying that he couldn't sleep cause he had been sleeping next to her for 60 years. It breaks my heart, you never saw them go anywhere without each other so spending time with the fam after the funeral was really wierd without her there. I am really happy they were able to come to the wedding, that was the last time I had seen her and was able to spend time with her.

March

My friend Nicole had a baby, Brooklyn, she is so stinkin cute and Nicole is such a good mommie!! I know it's kinda late but congrats Casey and Nicole!!

New Year's Resolution: Update Blog

At the beginning of December one of my best friends from Germany came in to town for a wedding. She lives in North Carolina now and I haden't seen her since my sophemore year in high school which is around 7 years ago! I was so good to see her, I miss her a ton! It was fun meeting each others significant others, catching up, and reminising on the embarassing things we did when we were 15. She is so stinking cute! We met up in Park City for lunch, here's a few pics of the reunion.
Right Before Christmas we moved up the West Jordan to a cute Townhome style apartment. It is really close to Jordan Landing so it is a bit of a drive down to Provo for work but we got kicked out of our condo because the owner's sold it. Don't worry they paid us to move out, which is pretty much the only reason we agreed to it! Anywho, I love our new place, if we have to live in an apartment I would much rather live in one that at least kind of feels like we have our own place. I also secretly like that we got kicked out because now we don't have to pack up the dogs and clothes ever weekend when we would come stay up here. Randy hates driving so we are hoping he will get a job closer to home. Here are some pics of the new place now that it's all put together.

The Holidays were so fun! It is definitely one of my favorite times of year. This christmas Randy's parents were in Boston visiting his brother's family so we spent Christmas day and weekend at my mom's playing Wii Guitar Hero World Tour and Mario Kart which was a blast!! My favorite part of when we played world tour was when my sister and I were playing the drums and guitar and Randy failed all of us with his singing! It was pretty funny, my poor husband is tone def and can only keep up with the game when he is singing falsetto. I loved it! Don't feel too bad, he proceeded to kick our butts in Mario Kart and made sure we knew he was killing us! All in good fun of course.

Here is Fitch all cuddled under the tree on Christmas Eve...

The week following Christmas Randy's Grandpa got married, the night before the ceremony his new wife's family had a big get together. It was really fun, she has a big family and it was also really fun to see the majority of Randy's family again. We don't get to see them all that often but when we do I always have a good time, they are hilarious. Here is a picture of our cousin Lindsay and her son, we got the pleasure of wearing name tags and hers just happened to get stuck to Canyon's head. It was cute!

The next day was the ceremony at the Bountiful Temple, which is the first temple wedding ceremony we have been to as a married couple, it was fun, it definitely brought a lot of those nervous/anxious/good memories back from when we were sitting there on our day. After the ceremony we all headed to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building where we had a yummy luncheon.

On to New Year's Eve, I worked that morning and then headed over to Sheldon and Michelle's house to start the sushi making process. We always go out to sushi together so we thought it would be fun to make it ourselves on New Year's Eve. It was so much fun and we were so dang proud of our professional looking sushi! Michelle had gone to the fish market earlier and picked up some delicious samon and tuna. First we just made california rolls and then just prepared everything else for the others to make their own rolls. Here some pics from along the way, and then the final product.
